Many waterfalls hikes are suitable for beginners who appreciate a gradual ascent along well-groomed, marked trails. Others can challenge more experienced climbers and mountain bikers

GREAT SKAMANIA COUNTY WATERFALLS

Curly Creek Falls

Head north on Hwy 30, then take the 51 Road to the 5110 Road. Cross a bridge and walk down to this lovely falls. These falls are just south of the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument and just east of Swift Reservoir.

Dog Creek Falls

Located one mile east of the Dog Mountain Traihead and 1 mile east of Stevenson on Hwy 14. There are lots of spring wildflowers, plus a beautiful falls within walking distance of the parking lot.

From Carson take Hwy 30 north. After passing the Carson National Fish Hatchery, turn right on Hwy 30 for about 1/2 mile. Turn right on Forest Road #3026, and proceed for about one and 1/2 mile. Turn right on Road #057 and continue 1/4 mile to trailhead. Follow trail #152a for about 2 miles. The climb is moderate to a spectacular 100-foot cascades. After the first mile, you will cross a rough wooden bridge over Falls Creek

Lower, Middle, and Upper Falls

Triple your pleasure with this group of three incredible cascades on the Lewis River off the 90 Road. This is about a 2 and 1/2 hour drive from Carson, Washington, again just southwest of the Mount St. Helens National Monument area. The Lower Falls Campground offers rustic camping among lots of cedar and fir trees.

Continue about nine miles northwest on the 90 Road beyond the Upper Falls to the Twin Falls. There you will also find Twin Falls Creek and Twin Falls Campground.
