This is my Cousin Gilmour Allan who is an accomplished musician and lives in Fife, Scotland with his wife, Barbara. I was fortunate to make the acquaintance of the Gilmour Allan family earlier this year via America Online. Below is the CD Gilmour made with his friend and fellow musician, the late George Keiller who was well known in the music scene in Scotland. They played together for many years, going back to the big band era when Gilmour also played tenor sax and he and George were in the same sax section. In more recent years, they continued to play Big Band music, using modern keyboards to emulate the sounds of Glen Miller, Jas Last, and more. Gilmour says of George, "I still carry on with my music, but now, of course, with different players. George Keiller is sadly missed by all who knew and worked with him."
This album was recorded at The Priory Club, a very popular
dance venue in the town of Kirkcaldy, Scotland. |
